It's less than two weeks now to due day. I feel a lot of Baxton-Hicks but obviously nothing happened yet. I enjoyed not working and having time to myself 3 days a week. I had a haircut, had the car cleaned and rented a baby capsule. I bought baby stuff and sorted all the baby clothes I was given (I didn't buy a single baby clothes item this time!!). I re-arranged Lara's bedroom, bought rugs and curtains and organised air-con installations. But there seems to be more things to buy and do.
Two weeks ago, I had to go to the delivery suite in the hospital to have a test done because I thought my water was leaking. It was then I realised I hadn't even packed my labour bag! We have not decided on a name either. I know I will get even less sleep and no free time once the baby arrives, but I'll be glad when the birth is out of the way.
I thought I might be induced this week, but apparently my body is not ready. In the mean time, I am still here and try to wait patiently for the new arrival.

Catch up ...
11/07 - with niece for lunch at 3one7 in Paramatta. It was a relaxing and enjoyoable afternoon. We ordered way too much food. Lara enjoyed her chocolate mousse.
18/07 - with my old work colleagues N & G at the local cafe, then back home for tea and cakes. We seem to have more rain these days, but this is one of those rare sunny weekends that was made more enjoyable by spending it outdoor.

The great moscow circus
We went to watch the great Moscow circus last Sunday. It was Lara's as well as my first circus visit so we were very excited. Having only seen circus on TV before, this one was smaller than I imagined. We got there half an hour before the show and bought some cold hot dogs, fairy floss and popcorn before the show started.
There were many acts one after another so it was never boring. We sat quite close to the stage and watched in amazement the first half of the show before the 15-minute intermission. I had to close my eyes from time to time in fear of the acrobats falling off at great heights. The kids had a play before the second half started. There was a surreal feeling about the whole thing. Lara was a little tired towards the end of the show and found the motorbikes 'too loud'.
Lara and Jenny's boys stood long enough in the front entrance for me to take some pictures. Don't they look cute!
Lara was especially facinated by the contortionist and found them funny. She put on a show for us that night pretending to be a contortionist. We had to clap vigorously whenever she stopped to hold a pose. It was hilarious.
This was certainly a memorable experience.

First dental check-up
Lara had her first dental check-up last Monday. She was very excited about going - she kept asking me 'are we going to the dentist yet?' a few weeks before the event, but was a little nervous and quiet while we were there. The dentist started by letting Lara choose a pair of glasses and a tooth brush. Then a pink paste was applied while her teech were counted. Lara waved to the sharks/fish hangling off the ceiling, said hi to Larry the dental light and was facinated by the dental chair. I need to pay more attention to clean her teeth at the top as Dr Jane, the Dentist had to remove some plaque build-up there. A much anticipated visit that didn't seem to last very long at all!
